A warm welcome awaits
Cleveland Golf Club is home to a friendly, vibrant and inclusive Ladies’ Section, where new members are always made to feel welcome.
We currently have around 60 lady members, with handicaps ranging from 6.4 to 54. Whether you are an experienced golfer, returning to the game or picking up a club for the first time, you will find plenty of opportunities to play, compete and become part of our community.
Golf throughout the week
Competition Day
Our principal competition day, with around 40 ladies regularly taking part.
Can’t play Tuesday? Submit your card over the preceding weekend instead. A relaxed social group follows the competition for those who’d prefer an informal round, and many of us meet for lunch and a chat afterwards.
Social Golf
Our Friday social group generally attracts around 16 players — a relaxed, friendly round to end the working week.
Club Competitions
Lady members have access to six Saturday competitions each year alongside the gentlemen’s section, plus an additional ladies-only Saturday competition during the summer.
Reserved Tee Times
A reserved block of tee times, usually enjoyed by around 16 ladies, with both competitive and social golf available.
Informal midweek fourballs are popular too, so there’s usually someone happy to join you for a friendly round.
Represent Cleveland
Cleveland enters three teams in the Yorkshire Inter-Club League: Scratch, A and B. These matches offer an enjoyable opportunity to represent the Club, meet players from across the county and experience competitive team golf.
We also organise a couple of golf trips during the year, adding another social dimension to an already active calendar.

Each January, we publish the Ladies’ Captain’s Calendar together with a comprehensive Competition Handbook, helping members plan their golf well in advance.

Introductory Offer
If you are completely new to golf, our three-month induction package offers an accessible way to discover whether the game is right for you. Priced at £99, the package includes four lessons and the opportunity to begin enjoying golf in a friendly, supportive environment.
